By deconstructing and reconstructing images of landscape and vegetation, my work investigates the threshold between disappearance and becoming. The fracture is left exposed, while the act of repair brings forth a new reality. Vegetation serves as a metaphor for transformation and for the ability to grow from brokenness.

"It seems that Dalia Segav foresaw the fate of the State of Israel from the window of her home in Mevaseret Zion. Shagav presents works in small to medium format, in printmaking combined with collage. The works deal with a local, personal, pastoral landscape but with a strong tension beneath the outer layers of the painting. Segev's landscape is torn into pieces of matter and spirit, as if it is disintegrating into abstract forms that hardly resemble a country with clear borders anymore."
